Noll – the Only Coach to Win 4 Superbowls

Chuck Noll is the greatest coach the Steelers have ever had.   His teams in the 70′s is what turned the Steel City around and started Steeler Nation!    His guidance has led more Hall of Fame players than any coach.  Thanks to Chuck Noll, Pittsburgh football is not only on the map, but he MADE the map.   Perhaps 4 Superbowl wins in a decade will be a record that will never be beaten.

Steelers to Unveil New Throwback Jerseys

Nike Not Changing Regular Jersey Much, But Steelers Are Making Big Changes to Throwbacks

The Steelers are holding a press conference this Tuesday at 4:30 EST to show off their new throwback jersey.   The jersey is being released to commemorate their 80th anniversary in Pittsburgh.

In 2007, the Steelers wore a variation of their early 1960s uniforms that featured gold helmets with black stripe, black jerseys with gold numbers and stripes, and white pants with black-and-gold side stripes. Pittsburgh has worn these throwback jerseys twice a year, including 2011 home games against the Ravens and Browns.

The fifth-oldest franchise in the NFL, the Steelers were founded in July 1933 as the Pittsburgh Pirates. Their original uniforms featured a yellow jersey with pronounced black stripes and the crest of the city’s coat of arms on the front.

Stay tuned for the unveiling of their new “old” jerseys tomorrow!

Here’s the original 1933 Jersey as worn by Barry Foster.
