Miller and Pouncey 1st Team – Others “Snuffed”
Our congratulations to Maurkice Pouncey and Heath Miller – both names as starters in the 2013 Pro Bowl. What is amazing is that there are no starters from a defense that ranked at or near #1 in almost every category!

Injuries Prevent Both Polamalu and Pouncey from Joining Their Teammates
Many Steeler fans have been asking “Where is Troy?” “He’s not in any of the pictures of the players in Hawaii”
Troy is healing from injuries and stated that he would not play. Pouncey is also recovering from his high ankle sprain that kept him from playing in the last few games.
Here are some articles that better describe Polamalu’s injuries and reason for not playing in today’s game.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and center Maurkice Pouncey named to All-NFL Team
Troy Polamalu and Maurkice Pouncey were both honored by the Pro Football Writers as they both made the All-NFL team for 2011.
Polamalu was third on the Steelers in tackles during the regular season with 90, adding a sack, interception and fumble recovery for a touchdown. He was selected to his seventh Pro Bowl this year, his sixth as a starter.
Pouncey was also voted a Pro Bowl starter this season, his second straight year making it to the game, first as a starter. The team’s 2010 first-round pick started every game last season, but only 14 games this season because of an ankle injury. He also missed the Steelers wild card loss to the Broncos.
Polamalu was selected to the Pro Football Writers All-NFL team in 2010 and Pouncey was named to their All-Rookie team last year.
Both players were also named to the Associated Press All-Pro Team this year.
The Steelers, of course, feel short of their goal of returning to the superbowl, but considering the injuries that they were plagued with all season long, they had a great year.

Maurkice Pouncey Lashes out on Twitter
Maurkice Pouncey was criticized for promoting a rap song shortly after the Steelers loss to the Broncos. When some fans lashed back at him, he started making some very nasty comments to fans.
Maurkice….. what were you thinking????
Steeler Nation is THE BEST fan base of any team. While Maurkice was frustrated with his injury and inability to help the team, it is our opinion that he really made some rookie moves by lashing out against those who ultimately pay his high wages – the fans.
Maurkice did apologize for his behavior, he may have really damaged the image that fans had of him. Hopefully, he will overcome and move on. Not a good taste to leave in everyone’s mouths at the end of the season. Personally, this write is still a fan of Maurkice, but…
